2010 in Review

January
  • My Uncle Gordon passed away. He was a good-guy. Gave me a lot of support throughout my mission and was more of an "uncle" than the great-uncle that he really was.
  • Michal & I flew out to Poland and had an incredible time. I was able to meet my in-laws, taste some wonderful Polish pastries, and see the beautiful architecture of Wroclaw (the city where Michal was raised). I really enjoyed myself here and have to say my thanks to Michal's mom for making it super enjoyable and entertaining us while we were there!

February

  • From Poland, Michal & I traveled to Germany. Michal's cousin, Adam, was kind enough to drive us there. I have never been in a car that had been going so fast, so I had to take a picture to document how fast we were really going. At the fastest point we were going about 140 miles per hour!
This is a picture of us at the Berlin Wall.
  • PARIS - France - This was our final stop before returning back to the US. Michal had never been and we tried to hit all the "touristy" places. In Paris, we perfected our jumping pictures:
Moulin Rouge
The Louvre
Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris
  • Michal took me to my favorite restaurant for Valentines Day: Gloria's Little Italy.
March
  • Katie had a Birthday.
  • Michal & I went to the festival of colors in Spanish Fork. It is a Hindi festival celebrated in the early spring in where you throw colored chalk all over each other. Even though you can't breathe during the chalk throwing, it is rather quite fun!
  • I learned how to crochet.

April

  • I cut over 18 inches off of my hair. My hair went from this:
  • To this:
  • I bought a piano! My dream come true!

May

  • Great Grandma turned 100. Afterwards, I decorated Sam's truck will some of the balloons used to decorate Nana's party. It wouldn't be a party without pushing some of Sam's buttons, but he took it really well!
  • Michal & I celebrated an anniversary in Las Vegas. While we were there we visited Michal's favorite show: Pawn Stars. We were lucky enough to meet "The Old Man." Michal was in HEAVEN! For my Dad's father's day gift we photoshopped a picture of him in there with "The Old Man" & Michal.
  • We went and saw Phantom of the Opera for the first time in Vegas. It was wonderful!
  • Michal had a birthday!

June

  • I ran my first ever 5K. I was slow (of course) but I didn't expect there to hills there. I ran with some of my friends from work. They were the ones who convinced me to sign-up, and I'm grateful they did. Since running this 5K, I have enjoyed running and every week try to beat my 5K score!

Me, Anne, & Michelle
  • We got a Costco membership!

July

  • I marched in my first Bagpipe parades.
  • Michal ignored his wife during the world-cup. Which was okay, because it made him happy! He has decided that we will go to Poland for the Euro-cup in 2012, and I'm okay with that too!
  • I went to YW Girls Camp & Michal came up with me each night after work. The first night it took FOREVER to get permission for Michal to come in, making sure he wasn't an intruder or anything. So the next night we put him in the trunk and drove up so that they didn't see him. When we arrived at the camp and everyone saw Michal pop out of the trunk, they laughed and laughed that he would actually do that, but we just didn't want to wait forever. While I was there I did the challenge course with the girls. Check out my bravery!

August

  • Michal went to Alaska, he went with my brothers & dad & caught a lot of Salmon & Hailbut!

September

  • I called in sick to work and went to Swiss Days with my Mom & Aunt Judy. I enjoyed myself, much more than I would have if I had to work that day!
  • We went to the cabin for Mom’s Birthday & went on a few hikes. Michal's always up for a good hike, along with Badger!
  • Started my 101 goals in 1001 days.

October

  • I was offered a New Job! I was so happy! I was to start November 1, so I quit my current job right away and started preparing to move.
  • Michal ran the Layton Marathon in 4:38
  • Michal threw Sam a Bachelor's Night. He sent out invitations for "Hooters", but the address was really in Provo. The restaurant closed down the day before the Bachelor's party, so they changed it to "Lon's BBQ Shack" in Spanish Fork and had a lot of fun with some of the relatives on my Mom's side.
  • Michal & I went to New York City. It was my first time (Michal's second) and I really enjoyed myself. It was so much fun and so worth the trip. We found tickets Friday night and left Saturday morning. We only made such an impulse decision because our round trip tickets were unbelievably cheap. I'm glad that Michal was game for going, that's why I really am so grateful that I married him - he's always up for the trip to somewhere new - as long as it's with me!
  • Went to see the Magic Flute Opera by Mozart. I have never laughed so hard through an Opera. I would recommend this opera to ANYONE!

November

  • Michal was offered a new Job starting December 27th.
  • Sam got married in Las Vegas! It was a fun trip and fun to see him so happy... and don't worry... I decorated his car - again.
  • Michal & I moved to SLC
  • Michal & I met Elder Oaks & Elder Ballard

December

  • Michal & I bought a new car on the last day of the year (to get a good deal).
  • Jason, Michal's best friend, had a Baby Blessing & asked Michal to stand in the circle. It was his first time participating in a baby-blessing. BTW - Thank you to the Neffs (Emma & Jason) for being such wonderful friends!
  • Michal got a part-time job @ J-Crew & his closet grew and grew and grew. Mostly of (white-trash) flannel shirts, but he loves them. He will keep that job and work there a few times a month while he works full time.
Overall, we have had a very good year. We feel very very very blessed by everything that we have been given and attribute our thanks to our Heavenly Father & our families for their support & help.
