Ahoy! It's A BOY! Baby Shower

In life some people are blessed with great looks, some with great intellect, others with great talents... I am blessed with great friends.  In fact, one of these friends decided to throw me a baby shower for Baby Boy.
 The theme was:
Ahoy! It's a BOY!
The decor was absolutely adorable and perfect for such a fun baby shower!
(And everything tasted better than the pictures make it look... which means it was delicious!)

And... these ladies were so tricky that they even got pictures of me and my prego belly.  As a matter of fact, these are the ONLY pregnancy pictures that I have of myself. (37 weeks 4 days) I just feel so huge and gross that I didn't want to remember myself being so huge, but I'm actually grateful they took these pictures of me.

With everyone that came to support me, baby is going to be one spoiled boy from all the gifts that he received from these generous women!
What better friends could a girl ask for?

A big thank you seems insufficient for the amount of gratitude I have for those who came and supported me.  You have no idea how loved you made me feel.  This pregnancy was really hard and nights like these made all the hard times worth it! You know who you are, thank you for your friendships and your kindness and your love!

Christmas

Christmas 2014

Christmas this year was pretty special, pretty different, and pretty entertaining... because it was the first Christmas that we celebrated as just our little family.  The three of us were able to snuggle up together and enjoy the day in each others company.   Lily woke us up super early in the morning, not out of excitement (c'mon she's not even two years old yet), but because she had a fever.  So instead of jumping right in and opening gifts right away, we decided to just snuggle in bed together until she got feeling better.  Opening gifts when she wasn't feeling well wouldn't have been enjoyable, so we took it easy and once her fever went down - we were all rested and ready to see what Santa had brought for Lily.

Michal bought a Santa costume on Amazon and was so, so excited to dress up and surprise Lily. I think Michal was more excited about opening up this package than any gift he got on Christmas morning. You can hardly tell it's him... right?

Right before we were ready to come downstairs, "Santa" rang the doorbell and surprised Lily.  We got the whole thing on film... and let's just say that Lily wasn't very excited, or happy, to see Santa.  She was terrified, hid behind me, and clung to my legs for dear life.  You'd think that Michal's soothing voice would have made her feel more comfortable, but she wasn't havin' it.  Poor Michal was crushed, he couldn't sleep because of the anticipation of watching Lily's face light up.  Maybe next year, right?

To ease Lily and make her happy and take her mind off of what had just happened, we jumped straight into opening gifts.

Lily was such a good helper in bringing us gifts and helping us open them.  She still didn't quite grasp the concept of ripping open paper, so we had to encourage her and show her that it was okay.

Overall, she loved her gifts and was so happy to play with all the stuffed animals she got, her new puzzles and games, and her very own kitchen.

We wrapped up the day FaceTiming family members and eating dinner with a family in the ward.  Dinner was great, but company was even better (even if Michal DID happen to perhaps cheat while we played a game of 'Settlers of Catan'... hopefully they can forgive us for that!)

Merry Christmas from the Trenerowski Family! And a big 'Thank-You' to Grandparents for the wonderful gifts that we received from them.  And an even bigger 'Thank-You' to Lily for making Christmas utterly delightful and special.
