From Spanish Fork to Salt Lake

The last few weeks have been crazy busy. The last post I created was about our trip to New York City, which was super fun. Michal and I were able to go because we found round trip tickets to NY for $167... and since my last job paid me out all my unused vacation, that's what we used to enjoy ourselves for a weekend getaway. Once we came back - it was down to business in moving out of our first home as a married couple.
When we were moving out, Michal just had to sneak in a jumping picture.
We also had a lot of help moving out. It was super sweet of everyone involved who made it easier on me. I was a gimp because I broke my foot dropping something heavy on it in preparation of moving. I practically was of no use, so it was nice to have a lot of men around. And it was also very sweet of the YW presidency to come and bid me farewell with goodies and a cookbook that I can always remember my YW by. Michal & I hope that we left an impression on our ward in Palmyra, we sure loved the people there. Moving to our new ward was a night-and-day difference. Our first Sunday in Palmyra we were welcomed by men wearing Wranglers, cowboy boots, and bolo-ties... along with lots of testimonials about farms, farming, and more farm related topics. Our first Sunday in Salt Lake we were welcomed by finding out that we had 3 general authorities who resided in our ward: Elder Ballard, Elder Oaks, & President Monson. Since we have moved in, we have had the privilege of meeting Elder Ballard briefly, and we were also able to have a nice conversation with Elder Oaks. I shared some experiences with him about how had an influence in answering my prayers prior to my mission.

Living in Salt Lake is very different. We used to drive our car daily, now we are lucky if we pull it out once a week. We take walks daily and are always exploring. In fact, here is the view from my window at work...
I absolutely love my job. I feel like I learn so much there. I told Michal that I learned as much my freshman year that I did my first 2 weeks in my new position. Everyone is really nice and the "team" seems to be cohesive. I am the only girl in the group with 12 guys, so there is NO drama... which is also really nice... I can come to work and get my work done.

Michal also started a new job. He helps high maintenance women spend their husbands money at JCREW. He loves it and he has a new wardrobe to prove it. Michal will start another new job as a Broker at the end of this month. He'll learn a lot and it will be a good stepping stone towards his dream career.

Since we have also been away, my brother was married in Las Vegas. It was a fun Thanksgiving break!
It was a really beautiful wedding, nothing went wrong, and it was really neat to see how many people came out to support Sam on this special day of his.
Ben caught the garter at the wedding.... and his girlfriend Fatima caught the bouquet... I'm not hinting at anything here though.
And of course - I couldn't let my brother get married without decorating his car - that just wouldn't be a nice sister if I didn't do something to drive him crazy!

I also love being here in Salt Lake because it is SO much easier to get out and meet up with friends. I almost feel popular because its nice having friends and neighbors again, instead of a cement factory and a car dealership as your neighbors. I have to admit, the people that have stayed in contact with me since I've moved from Utah county, I am so grateful to call them friends. They are inspirations and I have learned so much from them. They know who they are - and I want to tell them thank you!

The first 4 weeks we lived in Salt Lake we were without internet... so I had a wonderful excuse of why I hadn't updated my blog, or been on facebook. It's amazing how addictive the internet could be. It was almost overwhelming the first time I was back on because I felt like I was "out of the loop"... instead, I kinda became a reader. I've never really been the reading type... but I read the Hunger Games Series and the Harry Potter Series. I've been begging Michal to go and see Harry Potter 7 part 1 with me, but I can't get him to go. I seriously need a friend to sit through that movie with me - any takers??? Now that I have been reading more we have been to the Salt Lake City Library a few times. Michal loves it because it even has it's very own Polish section. However, after our first trip there Michal checked out 8 full-opera CDs and that's all he has been listening to. While Michal loves his operas, I love getting book recommendations from people about fabulous books to read, so if you have any book suggestions, send them my way!

I got into reading because back in September, I read a good friends blog post about how she decided to accomplish 101 goals in 1001 days. I thought, "Wow, that's such a good idea because then you know what you accomplished and you can look back and see what you did over the past 3 years." Plus instead of wasting my time on the internet, I try to check mark something off of "my list". It's been really inspiring, and even though I've only been doing it for 3 months, I already know there are several things that won't get done... but at least it's down as a goal. Reading 101 books over the next 1001 days has been one of my goals. This is one I don't know if I will accomplish it or not... but... maybe I'll stretch it and count Genesis & 1 Nephi & 2 Nephi as "books". Maybe my next post - if I feel comfortable & get husband permission - I will post what my goals are.

That's about all that the Trenerowski's have been up to lately.

New York

(Empire State of Mind Part 2 - Featuring Alicia Keys)

Ooohh New York

Ooohh New York

Grew up in a town that is famous as the place of movie scenes

Noise was always loud, there are sirens all around and the streets are mean

If I can make it here, I can make it anywhere, that's what they say

Seeing my face in lights or my name on marquees found down on Broadway

Even if it ain’t all it seems, I got a pocketful of dreams
Baby, I'm from New York

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of

There's nothing you can't do

Now you're in New York

These streets will make you feel brand new

Big lights will inspire you

Hear it for New York, New York, New York!

On the avenue, there ain't never a curfew, ladies work so hard

Such a melting pot, on the corner selling rock, preachers pray to God

Hail a gypsy cab, takes me down from Harlem to the Brooklyn Bridge

Some will sleep tonight with a hunger far more than an empty fridge

I'm gonna make it by any means, I got a pocketful of dreams

Baby, I'm from New York

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of

There's nothing you can't do

Now you're in New York

These streets will make you feel brand new

Big lights will inspire you

Hear it for New York, New York, New York!

One hand in the air for the big city,

Street lights, big dreams all looking pretty

No place in the world that can compare

Put your lighters in the air, everybody say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

In New York!

Concrete jungle where dreams are made of

There's nothing you can't do

Now you're in New York

These streets will make you feel brand new

Big lights will inspire you

Hear it for New York!

Fall: The Best of All

This weekend, Michal and I drove the Alpine Loop to look at the leaves changing color. It was so breathtaking up there, and we got out to hike around. While we did, here are some pictures that we took on Sunday's early evening.

Michal meets his favorite TV star

The other day as I was driving home for my lunch break I saw something that I KNEW would make Michal so happy. I wanted to get him to take me back to work so I could show him my surprise, but he insisted that he was too busy. Alas, my surprise had to wait. The following days my "surprise" for Michal did not return. I thought I missed my opportunity forever... Until 2 days ago, my "surprise" returned. I jumped in the car with Michal, drove down the street and introduced him to...
HANK HILL (from King of the Hill TV series)

Now everyday as we drive down this street Hank is always there to greet us!
(This post was for you Michal)
