Things I don't want to forget - 14 Months

"Laughter is timeless.  Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever." ~ Walt Disney

Dear Lily,
This month we realized, you still love getting into everything and receiving all the attention that we have to give you.

You discovered sand (for the second time)... and liked it!
Books are still your favorite!!
I introduced you to the pet store, and now we take a weekly (sometimes daily) trip to the store to visit the bunnies, birds and fishes.
New textures have become a fascination for you.
You are the world's greatest helper.  I'm not joking.  You love to help out, even if it creates more of a mess for Mommy.  You truly think that you are helping, and I appreciate it so, so much!

You contracted your first fever, and it was not fun.  You just wanted to lay around all day and cuddle.  Your usual energy was gone, gone, gone.  While Mommy and Daddy loved the hugs and cuddles, we were relieved once you started feeling better.

Thanks for all the fun new surprises Lily!

Things I don't want to forget - 13 Months

"We are always the same age inside." - Gertrude Stein

Lily, each month you get smarter and smarter and this month you learned not only to "fake-play" talking on the phone, but really calling people on the phone.  (So sorry to those of you she has called, texted, and/or tried to get in touch via FaceTime).
Although you learned to dump everything out, you also learned to share (sort of).
You have discovered boxes!  And they are so fun to climb in and out of... all.  the. time.
You still love your dolls.

We introduced you to the park for the first time, and you hated the swings, and hated the slide

Books are still your thing.

And even though you are becoming a professional at making messes...
... we still love you dearly.

Things I don't want to forget - 12 Months

Dear Lily,
You are growing up so fast. I can't believe how much time flies.  Thank you for sharing your sweet spirit in our home and making our home come to life with your energy.
Here are some of my favorite things which I never want to forget:

You celebrated your first birthday.  Opening presents wasn't your forte, but you were sure excited once you saw what was all wrapped up inside.

This gloworm has been such a lifesaver.  You go to bed without a fight and it's so endearing when I hear your little worm sing to you in the middle of the night.  I'm so glad that you find comfort with this toy instead of Mommy getting up in the middle of the night.

Lily, you learned what sugar finally tasted like... and you liked it!

You earned your first paycheck.  And you sure showed off and made sure we knew all about it.

You think it's the funnest game to climb on top of Mommy and lay down so that Mommy is extremely uncomfortable and can't move.
Bath time is your all time favorite time of the day and sometimes we take three or four baths a day to appease you.
You also learned how to enjoy yogurt to the extreme, just to get an extra bath in.
It doesn't matter if it's Mommy, Daddy, a box, or a car - you love riding on top of anything you can be pushed on.  This particular time I pushed the box from one room to the other because you were sitting atop it, and I forgot about you while I put other things away... and when I poked my head out of the closet, you were just so happy because you wanted another ride.
You continue to love to read.
You finally learned how to walk.
Look at all that hair you are getting!  (Oh, and I appreciate you learning how to put a diaper on doll-doll).
Remember how I said you enjoyed riding on just about anything?
We put up the baby gate, and you absolutely HATED it.
But, you still love yogurt!
And when we introduced you to balloons, you loved them as well.
Lily, you love all the attention you can get, but you also love to play the piano.  And you impress us with your early skills!

But, most of all, we love taking walks with you.  We love watching you as you explore and learn new things about this world.
We love being able to experience them with you.  Lily, happy 12 months!  We love you!

Marco - 2 Week Doctor Visit

February 5, 2015
Our little Marco is just growing.
More accurately our days look like this:
Eat.  Sleep.  Grunt.  Poop.  Repeat.

We sure love our little boy!

Two Week Stats:
Height: 21 in* - 75% (53.3 cm)
Weight: 8 lb. 9.5 oz - 54% (3.9 kg)
Head Circumference: 14.49 in - 81% (36.8 cm)
* This is the same height as when he was born, but when you are born they measure from the crown of your head to your toes.  Every appointment afterwards they measure from the crown of your head to the heel of your foot.  So, he has grown, just not a recordable growth according to the practice of measurements here.
