Lily's Boyfriends

I don't know what it is about this little girl - but she really seems to attract boys to her. I don't know if the girl/boy ratio is off in our area, but it seems like all of Lily's friends are "boy" friends. Some she really takes a liking to, while others she just enjoys running around with. But every-single one has had a special hug, kiss, or a little-hand holding from my Lily. We now start to warn every male, regardless of age, that she is a flirt and to beware.

Caleb
Lily's first boyfriend and first kiss. Separated in age by only 6 weeks, I hope that these two grow up to be great friends.

Tanner Dunn
While Tanner is about a year older than Lily, he took a liking to her right away. To this day Lily still asks if we can "drive by" Tanners house just to wave and say "Hi."

Asher Jaramillo
Asher is about six months older than Lily, but with Lily the only girl his age they quickly became good friends!

Jude McClung
Jude is also about six months older than Lily. He has a heart of gold, the energy of a horse, and the mischief of a mouse - and he is such a perfect friend for Lily. They go on so many fun adventures together and my favorite thing about watching these two play is how much they laugh together.

Eli Sloop
Eli and Lily don't have many play dates, but Eli has this shy personality and sweet eyes that seem to just ask Lily to love him.

Boys From Church
This picture is proof at how the boys clearly outnumber the girls - at least at church!

Easton Henderson
Easton has two younger sisters: Molly and Claire who are just three months older than Lily. Lily spends a lot of time with Molly and Claire each week when I teach their older sisters piano. Easton is usually around, but his shy nature keeps him in the shadows. I was quite surprised to see how keen he was on Lily. Whenever we go over to the Henderson's house it's never just "Molly and Claire's home" it's "Molly and Claire and Easton's home." And Lily loves him just as much as the twins.

Max Rodriguez

Lael Cox

Jake Armstrong

Daddy
Out of all of the boyfriends that Lily has, this one is her very favorite!

I can only imagine that over the next few years this list will grow. I know I'm in for a world full of surprises, but to be completely honest - I'm excited to see Lily make friends and establish relationships with others. I'm excited to see who she crushes over and eventually falls in love with. I'm excited to be a part of all that and to coach her through heartache and celebrate when she gets her first kiss. I'm truly excited to be there for all of it!

Valentine's Day

For Valentines Day we were invited over by the Parano-Stevens family to enjoy a homemade meal.

With Valentines Day falling on Sunday this year, sharing a meal with another family was really the most ideal, fun idea. Not only did we enjoy the Parano-Stevens company, but it looked like Marco really enjoyed sitting next to the adorable Aida.

After dinner, the Parano-Stevens children were so sweet and took care of our kids so we could sit and chat with our friends. Just knowing that our kids were enjoying the attention that they were receiving made this Valentines treat extra special. It was also fun to see how decorated their house was. I told the Parano-Stevens family that I just must not have had enough energy to decorate the house because they did a superb job compared to my (lack) of decorations. Marcia informed me that it was all the children and that once kids got older the kids took care of decorating and parenting goes from doing everything, to merely supervising. It sure gave me something to look forward to!

We knew that it started to snow while we were enjoying our meal, but we didn't think much of it. Snow in North Carolina? Not only does it rarely happen, but when it does snow, it usually never sticks. But not tonight! The roads were slick coming home and it took us almost a half hour to return safely to our home. The kids were in awe and loved watching the snow come down. Lily kept on asking if we could build Olaf.

This may not seem like the perfect Valentines Day... but it was one of my very, very favorite Valentines Days that I have celebrated with Michal. I don't know why, but all of the elements combined (food, company, childcare, relaxing, and the earth being dusted with snow) made it absolutely perfect, refreshing, and memorable!
