It's crazy to think that just a year ago I was blogging all about my trips around Europe. All the fabulous sites, people, and food that Michal & I experienced. And it's crazy to think that in a years time I would be blogging solely about our baby girl.
I had a lot of friends who scoffed, made-fun, and tore down blogs where they were solely dedicated to children. Sadly, I can't say that I have never done this. The hardest thing about becoming a Mom was that I couldn't judge other Moms anymore. I used to think, "Gee, can't they calm their child down." Or, "Don't they have anything better to blog about?" Let me answer that question for you: No, we (moms) don't! Having a child in your life is the most rewarding, fulfilling experience ever. I feel ashamed that I was so arrogant that I couldn't realize this before actually becoming a mom. To have someone who trusts, loves, and needs you completely is a satisfactory feeling that makes you feel fulfilled. Thus, why would I want to blog about anything else but my little girl? Why would I want to waste my time - because this is what I do 100% of the time. It's not a 9-5 job with weekends free - it's ALL. THE. TIME. Thus, I want to remember these precious moments and from here on out my blog will be mostly about how much Lily is growing and changing. I'm sure there will be the occasional vacation or two - but - right now I feel that it's the little things that count... and I don't want to forget them.
Without further ado....
I wish I could say that I'm super photographer-camera mom, but I'm not. I grab whatever camera is nearest (most of the time the iphone) and snap a picture when I think that Lily looks so darn cute. I try to take a picture a day for Michal and my mother-in-law, but I'm not perfect. I just feel accomplished that I got a one month vs. two month picture below.
It's amazing to see how much she has grown in just one month! She sits straight up, holds her head up, talks to me through her baby noises, and has a lot of interaction with me now (my favorite being the smiles). She loves to sit up and look at things. When we take her grocery shopping, she hates it when the car seat cover is on because she likes to look around at everything. She is very attentive and loves being able to sit up and talk to those around her.
Here are some things that Lily really loves to spend her time doing:
Sleeping in with Mom.
Or thinking that she's sleeping-in with me, while I go shower and get things done...
Or... sleeping ON Mom...
... and occasionally Dad...
Cuddling!
And cuddling with Dad too...
Going on walks with Mom & Dad...
Sleeping...
Sleeping...
More Sleeping...
And more sleeping...
Modeling...
Being so darn cute!
Cheering with Dad
(Exact translation: I cheer with Dad)
Getting her first piece of mail...
Interacting...
And (my favorite): Learning how to smile!
Three days ago (April 8th) Lily tried to suck her thumb... instead her whole hand ends up in her mouth. She hasn't quite mastered the thumb technique yet.
And within the last week she has started grabbing things (ex: the ring below).
Lily such a good baby because she hardly every cries, seldom fusses, rarely spits up, plays by herself during the day so I can get things done, and often sleeps through the night. I feel so lucky and so blessed to have her in my life. She makes being a Mom easier than I had anticipated and expected.
