Shopping - October

I don't know why, but I feel like all I did in October was go shopping with the kids. We didn't really do any special activities other than go to clothing stores or grocery stores. Alas, I don't think that the kids mind where we go, I just think that they are excited to get out and about.

At the beginning of the month, Michal surprised me with a shopping spree to buy me some clothes that fit me better. It was so fun feeling all dressed up and doted on. The majority of my "spree" was done while we had a babysitter, but we finished with checking out the sales at J. Crew. For this trip, kids joined us and Lily wanted to try on all of the clothes that I did. Michal found me some pretty amazing deals and some pretty sweet clothes that fit me well. I would have loved to have gotten this yellow shirt if it wasn't so see-through. Lily loved it and Michal wanted to buy it for her. Let's just say that Lily has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. (For the record: we did not purchase this shirt).

I went to several consignment sales looking for shoes for this little girl. Somehow, she always ended up finding the most difficult pair of shoes to try on and show me. She couldn't understand why I wouldn't purchase Children's size 5 roller blades, Children's size 8 roller skates, Toddler size 5 (too small) winter boots, Children's size cowboy boots, and ballet shoes that she wouldn't fit into for another four years.

Lily learned a new trick. She thinks that if she sits in an item and says, "Take my picture please," that her statement translates to, "Please purchase this item for me to take home." It almost worked when the rockers were on sale for $5. But when I went to go buy them (sans children) they were gone and someone else picked them up. Lily is one clever girl to learn and use this manipulation technique.

And the two places Lily asks to go (almost daily) are Trader Joes and Costco.
I don't know why, but anytime we are on a walk (in the stroller) Lily asks me if we can walk to Trader Joes. I think that she likes shopping here because if you "find the Lion" then you get to pick out a free lollipop to take home. It's either the lollipop or the free juice samples that she really likes.
Or maybe...
it's the fixtures she gets to explore,
or...
the stickers she gets and puts on everyone's faces.

Thank you Trader Joes for making your store so kid friendly. It makes shopping so much more pleasurable and enjoyable when kids are happy and excited to go here!

And who doesn't love Costco?
I love everything about the picture below.
* Christmas trees already on display
* Marco strapped in his seat, but facing backwards because he wants to play with Lily.
* The employee helping pack our cart. Her name is Ewa and she is from Poland and treats us like family.
(and Lily loves to visit her "friends" at Costco. I can't believe she's never asked me to buy them for her, she just always wants to give them hugs... so hug away little girl, hug away!)

Who knew shopping could be so much fun?

For the past month (or more...), Parker has been saying "it's Christmas at Costco, mommy!" We sure love that store, too, haha!
