Lily's Monsters

Cute, cute Rachel Armstrong decided to give Lily some of her little miniature figurines as we departed from DC.  The whole way home Lily wasn't interested in the iPad.  She was more interested in playing with her new toys.  And the only meltdowns occurred when she dropped one and I had to turn around and pick it up for her.

Since coming home, this has been the flavor of the month - these toys "follow" Lily wherever she goes.  Electronics "move over" you got nothin' on Disney's small toys!
She aligns them on any flat surface she can find - bookshelves, chairs, the floor, couches, dressers, etc.

As you can see Lily got the following characters from Rachel:
Sulley (Monsters, Inc.)
Mike Wazowski (Monsters, Inc.)
Randall (Monsters, Inc.)
Boo (Monsters, Inc.)
Scar (The Lion King)
Shere Khan (The Jungle Book)
Tinker Bell (Captain Hook)
Alien Toy (Toy Story)
Fozzie (The Muppets)
Piglet (Winnie the Pooh)
and
Goofy

All of the toys (besides the Monsters Inc) Rachel gave to Lily because she had duplicates.  Rachel was kind enough to sacrifice and part with all her Monsters, Inc. toys because of how obsessed Lily is with Monsters right now.

And she even takes such good care of them by wanting to give them a bath in "Marco Bath." (The only time I've questioned her intentions is when she put them in a pot and put it on the stove in her play kitchen).

And to emphasize how much Lily just adores Monsters... we have to go to bed with them each night. We have the following monster toys:
Squishy
Squishy's Mom (Sherri)
Mr. Waternoose
Don Carlton
Jaws Theta Chi Monster
Art

(And in July we found Mike Wazowski and Sulley, who now also join her when she goes to sleep.)

However, Lily refuses to sleep with Art.  Every other monster (plus some) must be laying next to her or on top of her, for her to fall asleep.  It makes our bedtime routine rather easy with all these animals there to accompany her to sleep.
