Castle - Part 2

March 24, 2016
We had so much fun visiting Castle Mont Rouge, that I looked up other nearby castles. This castle is located about 30 minutes away in Jamestown, North Carolina. Castle McCulloch is a popular venue for weddings, parties, and some festivals. But we, personally, loved exploring the outside area.

The inside of the castle was dark and truly captured the feeling of being in a castle straight from "Outlander" or "Game of Thrones." Lily had a slightly different vision. She thought that the inside of this castle looked like where Maleficent lived. So she officially named this place: Maleficent's Castle.

And even though she associated this Castle with a villain instead of a princess, she was still so thrilled to come here. Lily was hopeful that we might run into Sleeping Beauty, so we kept on exploring.

Castle McCulloch is surrounded by a moat, a protective fortress and wall, and further up the hill is adorned with another circular building which seems that it would function perfectly for concerts. To sit and watch a concert with a castle in the background would be so relaxing and picturesque.

Lily didn't want to leave, even though Marco was tired and wanted to head back home. So after a few jumping pictures, we promised we'd come back another day - or - that we would find another castle to go and explore.

All the other Castles in North Carolina seem to be a bit farther away - but I can't wait to take Lily to her next fun Castle exploring adventure.
