Things I Don't Want to Forget - 8 Months

Lily,
This month you had a lot of new exciting things happen.

We went on our first hike, which also happened to be your very first date.

Any time music would play, you would naturally start dancing to the music.  It didn't matter if it was a commercial on TV, me playing the piano, or Mommy or Daddy intentionally playing music for you, you would swing and sway your hips and when it stopped you would whimper for us to keep playing, so you could keep dancing.
We realized that you don't like to have your picture taken with the flash on.  We tried several times, and every single picture yielded the same result... your eyes were shut tight.  This is one more reason that I just love you.  It made me laugh and laugh how for how you reacted to the flash.
Spending time with Daddy is starting to get more and more sparse and you love every minute you are able to be with him.  From the times that we pick him up from work, him holding you at church, or just playing at home.  You definitely have Daddy wrapped around your little finger.

And the times that you don't get to spend with Daddy, you get to FaceTime him before you go to sleep because you have this awesome sleep habit of going to bed at 5pm exactly, and waking up around 6:30-7:00 the next morning.
I also love this picture because it shows how you started to wave when people would say "Bye-bye" to you.

You learned how to stand yourself up.
You continue to love going on walks with Mommy.

Lily, you were able to experience the ocean and sand for the first time.  I can't quite say that you liked it.  But I'm sure as you grow up, you will come to Love it!

At a playgroups party, you were a hit.  Everyone wanted to give you hugs and loved crawling around with you. They all wanted to take you home with them, but you insisted on coming home with Mommy.

Halloween you dressed up as a Polish Soccer Fan (along with Mommy and Daddy), and were so excited that you got to see your boyfriend Caleb who followed you around like a puppy!
You learned to suck out of a straw this month.  And every time you get a hold of Mommy's water bottle, you not only have a very full diaper soon to follow, but whatever you don't drink ends up all over the floor, and you, and Mommy.
You LOVE to read.  Giving you a book will instantly calm you down and you love to pull books out and sit in mommy's lap and just read and read.  You love turning pages and even though you don't have the patience for me to read, you still love to read yourself.

You love going to the store with Daddy because he plays with all they toys with you. Sometimes a simple shopping trip, turns into a much longer play time trip.

If I can't ever find you at the store, I just have to go to the toy section and I know that I'll be sure to find you and your Daddy there - playing with all the fun toys.
You still sleep with Mommy in the morning, and she loves it when you do because she gets an extra little nap with a great cuddler!
Sweetheart, you found my stockpile of baby-food and when I'm not looking, you get into this food-storage and come to me with what you want to eat.  It is endearing.
I don't know what this is called.  But you have learned to make noises with your lip, either by yourself, or when mommy does it for you.  In fact, you know that we love it when you do it yourself, that when we discipline you - you immediately play with your lips - as if doing this will make us instantly forget why we are upset and you and just want to give you a treat instead.  You are one smart girl.

You have learned to kiss yourself and while Mommy fixes breakfast, you just want to keep kissing and kissing yourself in the reflection of the dishwasher.

You are such a pleasant girl and it is so fun to see milestones and achievements, ups and downs, learning and experimenting each month.  Thank you for being such a good baby!
