Things I Don't Want to Forget - 9 months

Lily,
Happy 9 Months.

Your 9 month appointment brought so much joy to the all the workers because you were so interactive with all of them.  And with yourself.  They found it delightful to watch you kiss yourself over and over and over again in the mirror.
I love that you absolutely love to read.  When you awake in the morning, your favorite thing to do is go straight for the bookshelf and start pulling the books out.  Once you have looked through one book, the next one comes out.  I bet that all the books that we have, you read at least twice a day.  You are going to grow up to be one smart girl.

You stopped sleeping on Mommy in previous months, but now you like to snuggle your little nose in my neck and stick your two fingers in your mouth.  It is an easy indicator to me that you are tired.  And this month you also started to love being swaddled as if you are a tiny newborn.  You climb into the blanket and try to wrap yourself all up.
Bath time is our favorite time of day, and afterwards you just love being naked.  You are such a super skinny little girl!

Daddy goes and gets you in the morning because it's the only time he gets to spend with you.  After you're done eating, you just like to snuggle with Mommy - and Mommy loves it too!
You love when Daddy takes you shopping, because you get to help him out.  And he gets to play with all the toys with you.
And, you surprised us all, when one day the laundry basket was turned upside down.  You crawled on over, pulled yourself up... and started walking with it.  Half a dozen walks back and forth took place, until we thought to record it on camera.  By this time you were a bit tired, so we had to encourage you - but it was a great Thanksgiving surprise for all of us!

Your first tooth came in on December 2 with the second tooth following around 2 days later.
You became an expert at helping Mommy take all the laundry in and out of the basket.  And while you are at it, you enjoy playing peek-a-boo; raising the towel above and below your head.  You think it is such a fun game.

But most importantly, you are growing into such a beautiful, serene, lovely little girl.
I love you.
